Rock en español es la música rock compuesta e interpretada en castellano. A diferencia del rock en inglés, el rock en español ha logrado tener éxito mundial en pocas ocasiones, y muchas veces ni siquiera entre países de habla hispana. Por eso el rock en castellano se ha desarrollado de manera heterogénea en las distintas naciones hispanohablantes; quedando así la música de muchas bandas para uso casi exclusivamente nacional hasta la llegada de la globalización de contenidos multimedia acentuada por la generalización de internet y desarrollada especialmente en el siglo XXI.
Goldfinger es una banda de música ska y punk formada en Los Angeles, California, en 1994. Se cree que el nombre de la banda es debido al nombre del film de James Bond, Goldfinger. La banda fué fundada por John Feldmann en voz y guitarra, Simon Williams en bajo, Darrin Pfeiffer en batería, Charlie Paulson en guitarra. Después de firmar un contrato con un sello discografico importante, lanzaron su primer EP titulado Richter. La mayoría de las canciones en Richter son versiones demo de las canciones incluídas en su album debut, Goldfinger, el cual fué lanzado en 1996 y hit en las radios estudiantiles.
Su single más importante single "Here in Your Bedroom". Aunque su segundo album, Hang-Ups, fué menos exitoso, la banda siguió manteniendo una gran cantidad de fanáticos devotos en la comunidad hardcore. Su tercer LP de estudio fué Stomping Ground, el cual se vendió poco en los Estados Unidos pero fue un hit modesto en algunos países Europeos, gracias a un cover de 99 Red Balloons, cantado en parte en Alemán. Open Your Eyes lanzado en el 2002 fué el primero de sus albums bajo un nuevo sello discográfico, Jive/Zomba.
