Pop rock es un genero musical que combina melodías y letras típicas de la música pop con elementos propios del rock como son una mayor presencia de guitarras eléctricas o un ritmo más fuerte. Existen diversas definiciones para el término que van desde una forma más lenta y suave de rock hasta un subgénero dentro del pop.
Mariah Carey (Nueva York, 27 de marzo de 1969) es una cantante, compositora, productora, arreglista musical y actriz. Hizo su debut discográfico en 1990 bajo la dirección del ejecutivo de Columbia Records Tommy Mottola, convirtiéndose en la primera artista en lograr que sus cuatro primeros sencillos llegaran al número uno en Estados Unidos en la lista Billboard Hot 100.
Mariah, de madre irlandesa y padre venezolano, desde muy pequeña empezó a tomar clases de canto. El primer disco salió en 1990 y se tituló 'Mariah Carey' y le valió su primer número uno con el tema 'Vision of love', al igual que sucedería con 'I Don't wanna cry', 'Someday' y 'Love takes time'.
