La música clásica se refiere a las composiciones musicales que abarcan el período llamado clasicismo musical que abarca los años entre 1750 y 1820. La denominación música clásica ha sido definida por los musicólogos con la muerte del compositor alemán Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750) que representaba el período barroco que comprende los años 1600 a 1750.
Kenny G, nació como Kenneth Gorelick en 1956, creció en Seattle. Nunca estuvo realmente interesado en la música hasta que su madre le animó a seguir los pasos de su hermano mayor, Brian. Así, Kenny comenzó a tomar lecciones de piano a los seis años. Sin embargo, y al contrario que su hermano, Kenny no disfrutaba con estas clases y no se sentía apasionado por este instrumento. Después de dos años, convenció a todo el mundo de que no iba a ser un as como pianista. Pasaron dos años más y, cuando tenía diez, algo especial sucedió en su vida.
Kenny recuerda perfectamente estar sentado en el comedor de su casa viendo el Show de Ed Sullivan en la televisión con su familia. Quedó totalmente impactado por la imagen de un saxofonista actuando en dicho programa y, tras ver la interpretación, sintió que tenía que tocar el saxo. Su madre, escéptica al principio, pero sin dejar de animarle, le alquiló un saxo soprano, y durante los siguientes treinta y tres años (hasta la actualidad) no ha dejado de tocar.
